Design and Structured Content: Where We Are, Where We Could Go

To create more enticing digital experiences, the visual design needs to match the intent of the content. The emergence of design systems created opportunities to map structured content in the back-end to pattern libraries in the front-end using a rules layer to orchestrate the two systems. Instead, the web looks more uniform than ever before and the format is encoded in the content structure. It’s time to talk about bringing the craft of design back to the visual interface arena and find out what is possible if we don’t limit our experiences to what is already done.
